Taxi Slaves - a documentary

Eric Martin of Chicago is currently producing a documentary film about the abuse and exploitation that exist in the Chicago taxi industry and believes this is endemic across the United. States. He hopes his efforts lead to reform at the legal and political level. I am at risk of my job by commenting further on this matter. I don't want to shit where I eat. However, I support all forms of free speech, and believe documentaries can be very effective (Edward R. Murrow HARVEST OF SHAME about exploitation of migrant farm workers lead to Bobby Kennedy's involvement) . As you know, the RNC. will be here next week. Not too many sympathetic ears in that group.

Great video, Tim. Thanks for posting this. Eric Martin has made an important short film that needs a wider audience. The problems he reveals are systemic nationwide. Cab drivers used to be paid employees with benefits and pensions. No longer. You're also correct about the RNC. They wouldn't lend the industry a very sympathetic ear.

As for the Anonymous poster, I don't blame you for not having the courage to attach your name to what amounts to an intellectually weak ad hominem against Tim.

Nancy C would let any driver go at any time without cause. Just look at the number of cabs piling up on her lot. She got ten temp permits to bring drivers from st. Pete to work the RNC. All she wants to do is take our accounts and stick it to United.
