We like to give our Skunk Ape expeditions names. This one was at the Wasburn area in the rain and we did launch the Aztec Snake gallons with the video camera. The problem was it did not fly very well. We will need bigger balloons next time. The plan was to usr a 150 foot tether to view above the tree lines.
Tampa Bay is known for pirates, buried treasure, golf courses, tropical beaches, and GREAT DEFENSE!

Citrus County caves (post by George)
Here are some links about the caves of Citrus County. The first one has a map showing all the dry caves knows to caves.org, it's a big document but the map is on page 66, page 77.

This one is interesting. Newly discovered bad ass caves, nearby!
I just think it would be neat to find some of these caves. The cave Tim and I visited is actually called Vandal Cave. There are many. I've been in all the Dames caves entrences. Or have I? They are still discovering caves in Citrus.
I am just facinated by this. Any thoughts anyone?

EA-TV airs with Bigfoot episode
The
remier episode of Florida Bigfoot Investigators aired last night on Tampa Bay Great 38 and it was a hit. The TV station has ordered 13 more episodes which should keep Kevin and the gang very busy. Central Florida saw a quality Bigfoot show that was about research and investigation. It was about a team of researchers that go into the Green Swamp in the middle of the night using thermal imaging under mostly "lights out" conditions. I thought the show was great and I was honored to be part of it.
When Kevin contacted me in 2011 about this project, I knew it would require long term dedication. We did the work, and now we can see the results. I am very proud of Kevin, George, Mike, Rob, and Terri. They have done an excellent job. Spike TV did not want us but if you want something done right, do it yourself.
Below are three videos outtakes of the show giving you a flavor of what was went down.

Tim Fasano and a large deer
After arming the Reconyx RC60 trail cam, I started to pack up. I checked the HD camera for I was going to explore around the area to see just how good it was. I was not disappointed at all. The results of the trail cam would confirm this is a wildlife intensive area. My belief is a predatory animal would also notice the pathway of deer, hogs and wait to ambush.
In only one week I went back to check on the camera and the media card was loaded with images. This area right now will be a long term placement for the trail cam.

Deep in the Green Swamp
Kevin took this vĂdeo as I made my way to the trail cam that had been left on this tree for six months. The water wad full of snakes but we gad to reach this camera.
We did not know it but the camera had actuall malfunctioned. It said 8,250 images but the trigger was stuck and we did not get much.

Full spectrum night optics
We are using a full spectrum camera (modified) that allows a search party to move to the tree line in total darkness by using thermal lights. The images are captured on a camera screen at base. By getting up close we can avoid the obvious shortcoming of "Finding Bigfoot" that only uses FLIR from a distance. Our method puts a researcher close to whatever made the hot reading then bathes the squatch in thermal lights getting a spectacular image.

Sasquatch Ontario has been made
People who follow me know iI do weird stuff, like search for Bigfoot. We are serious about it and post our videos on YouTube. The problem is that site is being taken over by hoaxers, like TimberGiantBigfoot and Sasquatch Ontario. They have loyal followersThat believe their bullshit. I don't.
Do these sounds remind you of something? A sound guy friend of mind created these with "Garage Band" software. You wanted proof; you got it. Sasquatch Ontario is a fake.

Postcard from Sarasota
Kevin and I met with the founders of Big Wolf Productions today to discuss the upcoming documentary they are planning about the Skunk Ape. They were great guys with some interesting ideas. We hit it off with them and have already scheduled a backwoods camping trip for the last week of October (the one I offered to Matt Moneymaker).
This photo was at Square One Burgers. If you have one up your way, I highly recommend going. The service was great; the food was awesome. Kevin and I can't wait until autumn. Its going to be a great Skunk Ape season. Really good things to come.

Headed to the Florida swamp
Those that have followed this blog know that I am involved in my own "Finding Bigfoot" project. We explore the deep swamps and look with our cameras for anything that may be moving. We also use a secret weapon.
Today kevin and I went out to deploy a Reconyx RC60 covert trail cam. With fresh batteries this camera should be good until November. The media card capacity is over 14,000 images at 3.1 Mega pixels. The motion activated cam fires an infrared strobe for great nighttime images.
As the rainy season sets in, it will become more difficult for anyone to compromise this area. We do know there are poachers in the area. That is the only thing I am worried about.
I read recently were Matt Moneymaker of the BFRO was in Torreya State park in the Florida Panhandle. That was last week. A good time of year to do this with the rainy season and the heat soon on its way. With its high bluffs overlooking the Apalachicola River it one of the most beautiful parts of Florida with actual elevation that is rare in the Sunshine State.

A Nature Trail Near Tampa
| A butterfly garden on a nature trail |
I took advantage of the first cold front of the season that made its way into central Florida by going out on a nature trail that I have not been able to access for months because of the bugs and the heat index. I do nature photography and I saw a Monarch butterfly. These insects are not easy to photograph because they will not just stop and pose for you. I had my camera on a tight macro setting and waited for the butterfly to make its way onto a flower and took many stills to make sure I got the one I wanted. Most of the time butterfly shooting fails.

"Searching For Bigfoot" Comes To Florida
![]() |
| Saga Magazine 1973 |
Tom caught up with me at a meeting point at the north end of the Green Swamp which is part of Richloam track of the Withlacoochee State Forest, and I took him to an area that has been known as a Bigfoot active area for some time. Tom travels with his research team and a trailer full of all kinds of high tech gadgets such as thermal night vision cameras, sound microphones, and computer imaging radar. He does not play around. We went miles deep into the swamp looking for evidence of animal tracks that could be where the big guy is hanging out looking for a food source. We found such an area near a prairie with high grass and pigs running around and clear deer tracks. This is where we decided to do our 'night operation.'

Late Night With Coast-To-Coast Radio
The other night on Coast-To-Coast radio with George Norry, he had three distinguished Bigfoot researchers on his show who discussed the latest evidence and theories. People that know me are aware that I have a real interest in Bigfoot. I look for the Florida version of the big guy called the Skunk Ape. This is supposed to be a smaller, and harrier version.
Coast-To-Coast is the perfect show to listen to late night when you are driving a taxi. The night air can really pull you into experience.
Dr. Jeff Meldrum discussed what I have suspected by my research, that the creature is not really human like. He may live almost by instinct. He said there is no evidence that they use tools or build permanent shelters, which would put them more in the area of gorillas. However, there is considerable evidence that they build structures. I have found a habitat that they slept in for at least one night.
Founder of the center for Bigfoot studies Daniel Perez editor of the Bigfoot Times said it was the rarity of the creature that makes it seem so illusive. He believes the best evidence for Sasquatch is the Patterson/Gimlim film taken in 1967. He also believes the Silver Star Mountain photos taken in 2005 by a backpacker are of an actual Bigfoot.
Loren Coleman rounded out the show by talking about his latest book. I understand he has been in Florida researching a book about the history of sea serpents and lake monsters in the Sunshine State.
These discussions were beyond fascination. Noory has on the top field researchers in all forms of crypto and UFO kind of stuff.
So if you get into my taxi late night, I just might have the radio tuned into Coast-To-Coast
