Going through changes

My popular blog TampaTaxi Shots is still here. However, my primary taxi blog is Tampa Taxi Hack on the superior (not free) Typepad.

There are more functions and its formatted for the new media. Since I use lots of images and video, it works out better for me.

Check it out.

Tom Caughlin schools greg Schiano

After his team gets thrown on for 510 yards by Manning, his coach punks out out Schiano. Not a good start in Tampa Bay

Buccaneers may open season in the rain

Greg Schiano coaches his first game today as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It will at least be on a wet field.

There is a massive thunderstorm moving in off the gulf of Mexico. It could clear up before the game but it is dumping a ton of rain on Tampa right now.

Anything that can slow down Carolina Panther quarterback Cam Newton down is a good thing.

Orlando has wonderful hotels

I had a ride to Orlando out of Tampa International airport yesterday. The fare went to the Hilton near the convention center off of International drive.
I noticed how large the hotels are in Orlando rivaling Las Vegas properties. I also noticed the cab stand in front of the hotels dominated by Mears Taxi.
Like United Cab in Tampa, Mears must be the premier cab company in the Disneyland Orlando area. I wonder if they have a slow time over there.

"Its the Bigfoot guy!"

At the RNC last week I was dropping of delegates at the checkpoint and someone recognized me in the crowd. The lady started screaming "its him." Her and her husband recognized me from YouTube.

Republicans kiss and run

Downtown showed all the signs of a one night stand, messed up sheets and debris tossed around the room. The city was busy cleaning up what was literally left behind.

Have you ever wondered why these major political conventions are never held in the same city twice? I think after Tampa considers the two years of work and effort that went into such a whirlwind, and complaints from citizens and business people about the entire city being shut down, they won't want another one either.
