Signs of economic recovery in Tampa

I am begining to see construction jobs like this throughout Tampa. That's a sure sing of an emerging economy. When I tell you in the last five years there have been none, I mean none.

I drive all over The Tampa Bay area and has not been so much as a porch remodeling job. Construction means jobs in the buildilng trades. The only way to stimulate the economy is to put men back to work. It creates a better dynamic then simply unemployment insurance. let's hope we can build momentum.

This project by the way are condominiums near downtown. You can see downtown shrouded in the fog. Fog is normal in February here.

Job Security?

I went to post up this morning at 5:09 AM and was blocked. The message said "see Rob and Paul." That is a scarry message to get. Rob is the general manager of the company and all I can do now is wait for daylight and management to show up.

This could all be an oversight or error. I don't want to jump to a hasty conclusion when U don't know anything.

I do owe the company money because of poor economic conditions. I have been making inroads and have paid on that ($200 Monday). I just have no idea at this point. I hope I am not fired after 18 years of service.

Late night and Jack Shacks

Asian%20massageOne of the things you can count on if you work late night is guys wanting a sure thing. It is getting late and they have not hooked up, so they are ready to be taken. In short, they get very, very stupid.
I had a call at a Tavern about 2 AM and this guy from out of town wanted to get laid in the worse way. At this point, he was ready to pay for it. If you want to pay for sex in Tampa, you have come to the right town. This area is loaded with everything from strip clubs modeled after petting zoos, old fashion bordellos, all the way to cheap peep shows. What ever you want.
He was counting on me to show him where the action was at. That is one thing taxi drivers are good for, finding where all the vice is at for the clients we are hoping will actually give us a tip for accommodating their illegal activities. We can be a live version of NightMoves magazine published in the Tampa Bay area that detail where all those kind of places are at.
I have had fares not really want to go to a whore house. I have had them want me to troll up and down a dark street to see if a working girl is out. I have done that in the past but I will not do that again. There are sting operations going on and a night in jail and loosing my job is not in the plan.
I took this guy to one of our famous Japanese spas where he could always count on a hand job for 150 bucks. He went inside to ask about the prices, I guess. He came out and decided to go back to his motel room. Good choice.
You can tell when fares have money to spend. It is just a sense you develop over time. This guy was a low roller aspiring to move up the chain. Big deal, right? Those girls will take your money no matter where you are at on the pecking order.
He paid me fifteen bucks for a foreteen dollar fare. He needs to work on that high roller thing.

Randy Harrington and DW Lee and the Ed Smith connection

have refrained from saying too much, Because I did not want to muddy the waters. The fact that I am an MABRC member means you will give me little to no credit for saying this, But I will say it anyway.

Ed Smith is a real person. I have visited with Ed Smith, Had dinner with him. Got an in depth look into their operations down in Oklahoma. I did see some evidence that secured for me the fact that Ed was into something big. The limiting factor for most researchers to not be successful, is funding. Even the big money researchers like BFRO are woefully underfunded. Ed Smith and his group does not have that problem.

The scale of their operation would boggle your mind. It involves leasing lands and long term ‘hands off approach’ with their set-ups. Engineered triangulated sound towers to locate precise locations of tree knocks and vocals. 24 to 36 ft angle iron towers topped with the type of thermal camera’s you see on the bottom of helicopters, with the ability to zoom in for a mile or more. Ground sensors placed in area’s of observations of travel, along fences etc. all fed into computers to give real time feed back as to whether or not something walking is bipedal or quadruped. fed back at the same time a thermal video is taken. Then after a video was taken, while the image was still on screen, not moving the thermal camera’s they can overlay a man standing in the same spot for size comparisons. Some of the video shots also resulted in hair, tissue and even blood from briars found from the travel path of the bigfoot.

Ed was the first to show us how to collect samples and document. First, you video the whole process,...
ENOUGH: this whole process of intriducing Ed Smith to the MABRC forums and using a plant on a few radio show has been carefully orchestrated for this major event. The key to of this is Doug Bilby (Bullet Maker). More on this next.

Getting in shape for 2013

With the walking on the trail serving ad cardio, I have introduced resistance training to my conditioning program. I got a good set of weights at Play it again sports at a reduced price.

In 2013 there should be a hugh improvement in my shape and appearence. I may even go back to the beach. I do know Kevin and I plan to go out of state where there will be elevated positions to camp. Got to be in shape.

BREAKING NEWS: Taxi driver shot in Tampa

A Yellow cab driver was dropping off in North Boulevard homes. I am phone calls but no info yet. The story below just broke. I dont work the projects and this is why:

police are investigating after a cab driver was shot in the chest early Tuesday morning.

Officials say a taxicab driver was dropping off his passenger at 1100 W. Chestnut Street when a suspect suddenly appeared next to the taxi with a shotgun in his hands.

The suspect pointed a gun through the cab driver's window and demanded money.

The cab driver tossed money out of the window and suspect shot the driver in the chest with a shotgun.

The taxicab driver drove off with his passenger still in the vehicle and got 100 yards to the intersection of W. Chestnut and N. Willow, where he crashed into a police car that was patrolling the area.

The officer approached the driver and realized he had been shot.

The officer, who was not injured from the crash, called an ambulance for the cab driver.

The passenger in the back seat of the taxi had attempted to exit the car during the robbery, but was unable to get out.

He is not suspected of being a part of the robbery.

He wasn't harmed during the crash.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'7" to 5'8", wearing all dark clothing.

He fled the scene and has not been captured. About a half hour before the shooting, Tampa Police says a caller reported a suspect seen walking around the area with a gun.

The cab driver is in serious condition at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was not been identified

Shop kitty found a new home

I'm going to miss this Little guy. This little Tabby cat has been hanging around United Cab of Tampa. He is real friendly and everyone pets him and feeds him. Now he has a real home.

The former mechanic JD took him home. JD has always had cats and I'm sure he will provide a nice home for him. The little guy will be missed.

Buccaneers are strong and long for the NFL

I am glad the Tampa Bay Buccaneers locked Greg Schiano into a.five year contract when he was hired. He was clearly the right man for this job.

His formula of discipline, detail, conditioning and not suffering problem childs was just what this team needed.

He may in the future be sought out by teams that refuse to develop. He will be viewed as a turnaround expert and would be in high demand.

I like Tampa International Airport

The reason I like working for United Cab is the right to work the airport. There are some sweet rides coming out of there and anyone of them can make your day.
Following up on what I said yesterday about the taxi leases in Tampa. Why would I want to work for Bay and Beach who rips their drivers off by charging 24 hour drivers $102 Monday thru Saturday. Sunday is the only day they can make money and they cannot work the airport. That is a fools bargan.

I know Nancy is spreading her drivers into Polk county to run the Lighthouse charges. Her men must be desperate.
I like the airport. I make money at the airport. I like it where I'm at.
